July 20, 2008 - George Aldrich - Presentation on side trips from the 16th World Bromeliad Conference hosted by the Bromeliad Society of Greater Chicago in 2004. This gave me a different perspective of the World Conferences - besides all the great presentations, plants, and people at the conference - this is the first I'd seen pictures of the well thought out side tours that are offered each conference.

Thank You George and Irene.

George and Irene Aldrich brought a huge selection of specie and hybrid Bromeliads, and other plants for the members to purchase at hugely discounted prices. They own Plants-N-Things a specialty nursery in Ocala, FL      And even more plants - Memebers brought in a huge selection of plants for the raffle. Plant donations and raffle ticket sales are an integral part of our Society - All members are encourged to participate.

What it's about - plants and the people who talk plants - come join us every 3rd Sunday.

Our Vice Presiden, Alan, found some great plants. He is holding an immature Aechmea biflora - a most surprising plant at maturity, Enjoy growing it out.      George Aldrich showing pictures from a side trip to the Field Museum in Chicago during the 16th World Bromeliad Conference
