Note: meetings begin at 2PM at the Sanford Garden Club unless otherwise noted.

  • 01/20-  Bud Martin, Lifetime Member of our Society, will present a program on bromeliad culture and appropriate mounting substrates.
  • 02/17 - Steve DeCresie, Horticulturist for the Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens, will give us a personal guided tour of the Zoo.
  • 03/16 BROMELIAD BONANZA at Blossom World Gardens, 9AM to 4PM. Bromeliads, orchids and tropicals for sale. Direction for Blossom World: 4225 Bloom Lane, Sanford 32773
  • 04/19-20 9AM to 4PM both days. Our Seminole Bromeliad and Tropical Plant Society’s - Spring Plant Sale, at the Sanford Garden Club. (Please remember to clean your plants and shake out the water prior to setup.) Volunteers are needed on both sale days.
  • 05/18 Our Society will participate in the Seminole County Master Gardeners’ Fourth Annual Garden Walk. Several Seminole County gardens will be selected for the tour. Carpools will be arranged, one or more leaving from the Garden Club. Details to be provided as this event date approaches.
  • 06/15 Eric Schmidt, Horticulturist at Harry Leu Gardens will give a power point presentation on various tropicals grown at Leu Gardens.
  • 06/24-29 Bromeliad Society International – World Bromeliad Conference. Cairns, Australia
  • 07/20 George Aldrich of Plants ‘n’ Things Nursery in Ocala, and member of our society, will provide our program.
  • 08/16-17    9AM to 4PM both days. Our Society’s Fall Plant Sale at the Garden Club.
  • 09/21 Meeting & tour of Calandra & Jay Thurott’s garden in Port Orange. They are members of the Florida East Coast Bromeliad Society. Carpools.

                                             

  • 10/19 Clean-up day of the planting materials at the Sanford Garden Club. New plantings, pruning, mulching, etc.
  • 11/16 Visit to the U.C.F. Arboretum’s Gardens of the World.
  • 12/21 1:00 PM (note new time) Year-end celebration with covered dish luncheon and 'Chinese Auction' plant exchange. Please bring a plant that you yourself would enjoy receiving, wrapped or covered, please.
